Then clear the one-time stuff every patch ships with. New Archon and story quests, world quests, and hangout events each drop 30-60 Primogems, and every fresh achievement is another 5-20. Maintenance compensation after each update reliably nets 300 Primogems, sometimes more when bugs get patched. None of this is glamorous, but the routine alone funds a chunk of your next banner.
Treat every event like a Primogem paycheck
Events are where free-to-play players close the gap with spenders. A single flagship event — the big themed one that anchors each patch — typically pays out around 420 Primogems across its quests and mini-games, and that’s before the smaller side events, combat challenges, and web events stacked around it. Do all of them and a patch’s events alone can clear 800 to 1,000-plus Primogems.
The trap is procrastination. Events run on hard windows, usually two to three weeks, and the richest rewards are gated behind daily-unlock stages that drip-feed content. Two endgame modes refresh on a schedule and are the biggest renewable source of Primogems in the game. The Spiral Abyss resets its reward-bearing floors on the 1st and 16th of every month. Clearing Floors 9 through 12 with full stars yields 600 Primogems per cycle, so a thorough player banks up to 1,200 a month from Abyss alone.
You don’t need a whale roster to profit here. Even reaching Floor 11 with partial stars pulls in several hundred Primogems, and the difficulty is a team-building and rotation puzzle more than a raw-power check. Build two functional teams, learn the enemy line-ups, and swap in characters that counter the current elemental blessing. A well-piloted four-star squad clears more than an under-leveled five-star one.
Imaginarium Theater is the newer monthly mode and works similarly: assemble squads around a rotating elemental theme, clear acts, and collect Primogems plus Stellar Mementos you trade for more. Because it demands roster breadth rather than depth, it quietly rewards F2P players who’ve spread their leveling across many four-stars. Treat both modes as monthly homework — a couple of focused evenings for a thousand-plus Primogems is the best hourly rate in Teyvat.
Redeem livestream codes and compensation fast
Every version livestream — the preview program HoYoverse airs a few days before each patch — drops three redemption codes worth 100 Primogems apiece. That’s a guaranteed 300 free Primogems per patch, but there’s a catch: these codes expire within about 24 hours of going live. Miss the window and they’re gone for good.
You don’t have to watch the stream to cash in. Community sites, the official Discord, and subreddits post the codes within minutes. Redeem them immediately at the official HoYoverse redemption page or in-game under Settings, Account, Redeem Code. Log the livestream date each patch so you’re ready.
Beyond livestream codes, HoYoverse hands out occasional codes for milestones — anniversary events, download records, apology compensation after outages. There’s no reliable schedule, so the move is to follow the official channels and check in when a major announcement or server hiccup happens. Combined with maintenance compensation, these one-off drops add several hundred Primogems a patch that most casual players simply forget to claim. Setting aside two minutes to redeem is one of the highest-value habits in the whole game.
Fund pulls with legit reward apps — and dodge the scams
If you want to stretch further without spending your own cash, legitimate reward apps can fund the occasional top-up. Google Opinion Rewards pays you in Google Play credit for answering short surveys, and that credit buys Genesis Crystals — which convert one-to-one into Primogems — or a Welkin Moon directly from the store. Payouts are small and sporadic, often cents at a time, but it’s genuinely free and completely within the rules.
Mistplay works differently: you earn points for time spent playing games it features, then redeem those points for Play Store or other gift cards. It’s slow, and it won’t replace a paying wallet, but if you’d game anyway, it quietly builds credit you can funnel toward Genesis Crystals. Treat these as a trickle, not a faucet, and you won’t be disappointed.
Now the hard line: there is no such thing as a Primogem generator. Genshin runs on HoYoverse’s servers, where your currency is stored and verified — no app, website, or modded APK can mint Primogems into your account.
